MCU Kitty Pryde Concept Art

Part of my final project where I adapted some of the X-Men into the MCU in a post Secret Wars/Doomsday reboot

Often the point-of-view character of the team for the audience.

For Kitty Pryde, I chose her storyline from Evolution specifically, as the X-Men have always been an allegory for minorities - a large part being the LGBTQIA+ community and her story is similar to that - (to summarize) of someone struggling with themselves, hiding, and finally accepting themselves for who they are.

I adapted her mask that she was often seen wearing in her early comic appearances. Visually this works as a way for her to “hide” herself - still struggling with accepting herself. I also gave her a baggy black jacket to help with this idea.
